Alyssa McGrew

Hi! My name is Alyssa McGrew, and I am a Stay-At-Home mom in Indiana. My children are 2 and 4, and they keep my very busy, but I try to make time in every day to scrap. My day doesn’t feel complete without paper crafting of some kind.

I started scrapping shortly after my daughter was born, because she provided such a wealth of gorgeous photos, and I felt I should do something with them. My very first projects were Mother’s Day albums of my daughter and step daughter for my mom and mom-in-law. I still can’t believe I was brave enough to start with gift albums!

My style is varied, and I love everything from flowery to funky. Having both a boy and a girl challenges me to get out to the ruts and mix things up on a regular basis. I am also currently designing for Couture Cardstock, and I am looking forward to many fun and funky layouts created for Your Scrapbook Stash!

Contests Won/Publications
I have been published many times in Scrap n’ Art. One of my goals for 2010 is to be published in another publication, so I am going to have to start submitting to make that happen!

One product you can't live without...
Patterned paper!

When are you most creative and why?
Whenever my kids are away or sleeping. I have to make the most of those moments!

Other hobbies besides scrapping...
Cooking and reading. I enjoy trying new recipes, and I always have my nose in a book for 30 minutes or so before turning out the lights at night.

Describe your style...
My style is hard to describe. I like everything from funky to flowery, and the style is a particular project is usually inspired by the products I am working with.

Messy or organized scrapper?
Organized! I HATE it when I can’t find something, and I always clean up after every layout, and every night.

3 random things about you...
I love coffee, and I sneak in a Starbucks run whenever possible. I can’t scrap in a messy house, I have to clean first (although my children are working to help me get over that). I ALWAYS have my toenails painted, but I never paint my fingernails.

Iris Babao Uy http://irisbabaouy.typepad.com/creativecorner/
I am amazed at her ability to combine the artsy and the elegant, and make them work together in each project.

Heidi Kelley

My name is Heidi Kelley and I currently live in Alabama with my husband of 10 years, Patrick. I am a SAHM who is in love with our three children Ahna (9), Sarenna (7), and Jax (6 months). We move quite a bit for my husbands job, and in the past 7 years we have lived in North Carolina, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and we moved to Alabama just under a year ago. It sure is HOT compared to the North!

I have been "Scrapping" my whole life it seems, before I even knew there was all these amazing products out there. The past 5 years, however, my creativity has really been let loose and I have had an incredible time working with and for several companies!

One product you can't live without...
Besides patterned paper, which I HAVE to have, paint and various art mediums are my love. I adore being able to alter and/or create my own embellishments!

When are you most creative and why?
Creativity strikes me at all different times. I find myself inspired by words that my children speak, sunsets, music playing, even seeing fruit in a market stand. Sometimes the moment even hits me while I am in the car... and then I must quickly finish running errands, lol, so that I can get it all down on paper. My children are often with me during these moments, and they join me by sitting under my table, crafting themselves. And I LOVE that.

Other hobbies besides scrapping?
Photography, reading, painting, and playing with mixed media!

Describe your style
I tend to be somewhat of an eclectic artist, and don't usually use scrapbook supplies in the most traditional of ways. I also have a love for mixed media and intricately designed products that truly allow me to create masterpieces. Not just layouts, but true to life, artwork, for my albums and shelves. I am a "fussy" cutter, and my fingers are usually stained unusual colors because of my passion for altering and/or making each product my own with paints, pastes, mists, etc.

Are you messy or organized?
Oh gosh... a little of both, I suppose! While in the throws of a project (and sometimes they take me days) my scrap room is in utter chaos. I leave everything out that I think I might want to use to finish the project, and I do that because I don't want to forget the direction that I want to go in. That being said, however, once a project is finished - the entire room gets put away. Vacuumed, counters wiped down, paper put back in the towers, etc. I mean, I need to be able to find it all next time, right?!

3 random things about you
1. I can't stand applesauce! (Blech)
2. I have never taken an art class! :)
3. I have a degree in Sociology, with a specialization in Bioethics. I hope to one day work on an ethics board, or work with lobbyists in Bioethics deliberations. (But that day will have to wait until my children have all entered the school system!)

International STASH GIRLS
Susan Lui

Hi there! My name is Susan Lui and I'm from Singapore. I'm a SAHM and I've loved all things artsy for as long as I remember. I started scrapbooking a couple of years ago and fell in love with this hobby because it allowed me to record my memories in a manner which appealed to the creative side of me.

Contests Won/Publications

I was runner-up in Prima Marketing's Build-A-Book contest in 2008 and am currently on manufacturer DTs for My Tattered Angels and Zva Creative.

One product you can't live without...
I love my embellishments, especially flowers, mists and bling. But if I had to choose just one product to scrap with I would say patterned papers, because there's so much you can do with them.

When are you most creative and why?
There isn't a time of day at which I'm more creative. My mind's constantly exploring ideas and I sometimes dream up layouts when I'm sleeping. :)

Other hobbies besides scrapping?
I love travelling, fine dining and watching my favourite crime shows on television.

Describe your style
I would describe my favourite scrapping style as shabby-chic romantic. I love lots of hand-cut details and layering on my layouts and
my favourite embellishments are flowers, lace, bling and mists. I also enjoy experimenting and trying new techniques and styles so you'll see grunge and clean layouts from me too.

Are you messy or organized?
Messy! A neat desk is a sign of a sick mind. :)

3 random things about you
I enjoy a good cappuccino, chocolate dessert and have a wicked sense of humour.

One product you can't live without....
The one product that I MUST have is patterned paper!

When are you most creative and why?
There isn't a specific time when I am most creative. I go to my scrapping area and start creating whenever I have time. Sometimes it took me two days to complete one layout and I'm fine with that.

Other hobbies besides scrapping?
I enjoy reading magazines, photography and baking.

Describe your style....
I love playing mix and match. Mixing different manufacturers and creating clusters of embellies is so fun!

Messy or organized?
I can be a messy scrapbooker at times, but I am sure to put things back after every project, leaving bits and pieces of scraps in the ever-growing containers.

3 Random things about you....
*dessert lover*, *love the color green*, "almost always in tees and capri"

Lady Grace Belarmino

I am LG from Manila, Philippines. I have been scrapping since October of 2008 and I am very much addicted to this new found passion since then. I have a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts, used to be a Computer Graphic Artist and an Art director at McCann-Erickon Advertising Agency.

I have found the love to scrapbook immediately after when I gave birth to my 1st baby girl last year. I am happily married for 2years now with a very supportive husband, Regie, who scraps with me from time to time.I do not have a particular style because I love to try out everything and discover more techniques as I scrapbook. The common thing that you'll notice on my works is my love for handcutting and distressing.
