My name is Erica and I live in Southern California with my husband, 3 year old son and a crazy pug named Rascal. I’ve been playing with paper for just over 10 years, longer if you count the deco scissors and sticker sneeze in High School!

One product I can’t live without - patterned paper! I collect it.

When are you most creative and why? Usually when I’m with my friends. I need to feed off their creativity. I end up talking more than I should so I don’t always get stuff done.

Other hobbies besides scrapbooking: I am a hockey fan. I live and breathe the sport. I follow the LA Kings but I have ‘other’ teams. I love to read. I bought a Nook last year.

Describe your style: I don’t really have a style. I like to play around with new techniques and paper lines I’ve never tried before.

Do you have a craft room, closet or corner? Right now, I am in between rooms. I’m moving out of a room and into a corner. I’m happier because of it!

Are you messy or organized: I am the messy one! When I get going, I’ve got piles everywhere. I don’t get a lot of time to spend creating so I hate wasting it with cleanup!

3 Random Things About Me:

1. I am probably the pickiest eater you’ll ever meet. I like my sandwiches dry. Meat, cheese and bread.
2. I need at least one bite of chocolate a day.
3. My closet looks like a uniform factory. I wear jeans and t-shirts only. I wear navy, blue or grey shirts (there are a few brown ones in there too!). I own at least 3 in each color. I *just* bought my first colored shirt in 2011 - a yellow sweater from Old Navy. I refuse to wear or own anything pink.

Alyssa McGrew

Hi! My name is Alyssa McGrew, and I am a Stay-At-Home mom in Indiana. My children are 3 and 5, and they keep my very busy, but I try to make time in every day to scrap. My day doesn’t feel complete without paper crafting of some kind.

I started scrapping shortly after my daughter was born, because she provided such a wealth of gorgeous photos, and I felt I should do something with them. My very first projects were Mother’s Day albums of my daughter and step daughter for my mom and mom-in-law. I still can’t believe I was brave enough to start with gift albums!

My style is varied, and I love everything from flowery to funky. Having both a boy and a girl challenges me to get out to the ruts and mix things up on a regular basis.

Contests Won/Publications I have been published many times in Scrap n’ Art. One of my goals for 2010 is to be published in another publication, so I am going to have to start submitting to make that happen!

One product you can't live without... Patterned paper!
When are you most creative and why? Whenever my kids are away or sleeping. I have to make the most of those moments!

Other hobbies besides scrapping... Cooking and reading. I enjoy trying new recipes, and I always have my nose in a book for 30 minutes or so before turning out the lights at night.

Describe your style... My style is hard to describe. I like everything from funky to flowery, and the style is a particular project is usually inspired by the products I am working with.

Messy or organized scrapper? Organized! I HATE it when I can’t find something, and I always clean up after every layout, and every night.

3 random things about you...
I love coffee, and I sneak in a Starbucks run whenever possible.
I can’t scrap in a messy house, I have to clean first (although my children are working to help me get over that).
I ALWAYS have my toenails painted, but I never paint my fingernails.

MY BLOG

Jennie McGarvey

My name is Jennie McGarvey and I'm a stay at home mom to 3 boys aged 9.5, 8 and 3.5. I'm also a very part-time photographer which I enjoy very much. I live in Southern California and have for the past 5 years though I'm originally from Iowa.

Contests/Publications

I am lucky to have 5 pages being published so far this year. I have three in Scrapbook Trends (July 2011 and 2 in November 2011), 1 in Creating Keepsakes (October 2011) and 1 in the Scrapbook Trends idea book Create:Families (October 2011) So far I haven't been entering many contests but it's on my to do list. (HA HA)

One product you can't live without

I would have to say that patterned paper is my most happy possession in terms of scrapping and it's my go to item. But, I also use a lot of kraft cardstock, mist, and shipping tags.

When are you most creative and why?

I do most of my scrapping during the day. I'm NOT a night owl, after about 6pm I'm ALL DONE. The kids know that I'm out of commission and this is true for about everything.

Describe your style:

I think that my style is pretty simple and fairly linear. It's not overly embellished or shabby, but I don't know if that has a name.

Do you have a craft corner, room or closet?

I am very, very fortunate and have an entire room devoted to my craft. We bought this house partly based on the built in office with the massive amount of storage in this room!

Is your spot messy or clean?

My spot is messy, but not because of me! It's also my 3 year olds favorite place to play and he's constantly making a mess!!

3 random things about you

1. I was once a flight attendant for a while.
2. I'm very honest
3. In 8 years (1998-2006) I lived in 5 states. (IA, KY, OH, NJ and CA)

Shellye McDaniel

I'll be married 20 years on the 22nd of this month! DH is super-supportive of my hobby :) Together we have three kids: Tyler-17, Zach-13 and Sydnee-9. I work part-time (nights) as a labor & delivery nurse. The main aspect of my job is assisting with c-sections...I love my job! When I'm not working, I enjoy all kinds of crafts, knitting, baking, reading and a little TV watching. My boys are very active in sports, so that keeps us busy as well (and I'm ready for my Friday Night football!!!) Sydnee does tap, ballet and jazz and just performed in her fifth recital.

Contests/Publications

Can you believe that I've just very recently entertained the idea of trying out for Design Teams or trying to get published...so, not much!

One product you can't live without

Fabri-Tac...I spaz when I open the last bottle, so I try to keep a 'several bottle' stash on hand

When are you most creative and why?

It varies...totally depends on what type of mood I'm in. I try to set the mood by playing different genres on Pandora. One day I maybe in the "Glenn Miller or Ink Spots" mood and the next it maybe "80's Big Hair" band. I liken creativity (or the lack of) to a writer having writer's block...you know when to push away and try it again for another day; crafting is like that for me. I know when I'm going to be creative or if I need to bypass the craftroom for a good book ;)

Describe your style :

That varies too! I draw inspiration from either the photos or the paper that I'm using. Some days I Iove getting everything inked up, grungy and shabby. Other days, I want clean lines and order. I really love both styles :)

Do you have a craft corner, room or closet?

We have the biggest laundry room on the planet. The people who built our house, literally built the room around the biggest deep freezer on the planet. So, I'm in the laundry room. DH built shelves and a desk that spans about 12 feet of wall. It's nice and quiet and has tons of storage, so it fits the bill!

Is your spot messy or clean?

I try to keep it as clean as possible. I'm a messy crafter, but before I start another project I put everything back into its place, then start all over again... it's the way I work best!

3 random things about you

I have all of the Andy Griffith shows on DVD
My favorite all-time #1 song is Don't Stop Believin' by Journey
I learned to drive a 5-speed before an automatic

Kristin Powell

I'm Kristin and I recently relocated to the "big city" of Portland, OR. No kids for me yet, but I do have one nephew who I love like my own (and I have three giant albums of him to prove it). When I'm not losing hours of my life to Pinterest, I'm probably craft shopping, napping, or dreaming of renovating my very own vintage camper trailer. I have always trended towards the nostalgic, and my photographs and scrapbooks are my most treasured possessions. I'm so thankful to have found a hobby that I'm truly passionate about, and am looking forward to creating here at Your Scrapbook Stash!

Contests/Publications

I've been published at Scrap Street.
Admittedly--I haven't ever submitted my layouts for publication, but I
have set a goal to do so.

One product you can't live without

It's hard to name just one, but I'd probably have to to say patterned
paper. I'm a total paper hoarder, and I love to flip through all the
sheets until I find the perfect combination.

When are you most creative and why?

Definitely at night. I'm a night owl, so the later the better. Give
me a trough of Diet Pepsi, good tunes and some brand new supplies and
I'm in scrappy heaven.

Describe your style

My style has evolved quite a bit over the years. My pages are kind of
like an eclectic carnival... lots of color with little bits of whimsy
and hand stitching tossed in.

Do you have a craft corner, room or closet?

I refer to my space as my "craft cave", but most people would call it a
room. I occupy half of our semi finished basement, which thanks to
Portland weather, floods regularly.

Is your spot messy or clean?

My craft space is the only room I enjoy cleaning, yet it's messy 97%
of the time.

3 random things about you

I wish my closet only contained outfits from the Mad Men set.
I have several irrational fears. Portable toilets, banana slugs and
owning 78 cats to name a few.
As a kid, I dreamed of being DJ Tanner on Full House.

Cutterbee scissors

When are you most creative and why?

Prob in the evening because of what I see and get inspired during the day.

Describe your style

love to try out different techniques & enjoy playing with the different medium. I am a BIG fan of patterned paper (love to do fussy cutting), also love mist & paint. In my layout, you'll mostly see balance, 3D, clustering, fussy cutting, blings & colorful choices.

Do you have a craft corner, room or closet?

A craft room

Is your spot messy or clean?

A little bit of both every now & then *wink*

3 random things about you

a) I have a thing for British accent. Think Hugh Grant, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, Sean Connery and Rupert Everett. The voice and that accent... I just melt.

b) Although I may look strict & tough at work, but I am such a cry baby whenever sappy scenes in movies come out or simply by watching Oprah! I just cry like I know those characters personally and as if I'm somehow involved with what's happening.

c) I am mixed-parentage of Chinese, Indonesian & Dutch but we have never taught to speak dutch & indonesian - only English, Bahasa Malaysia & Cantonese.
